    Overview

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the second largest investigative agency in the federal government. Created in 2003 through a merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service, ICE now has more than 20,000 employees in offices in all 50 states and 47 foreign countries.

    Detainee Locator System

    https://locator.ice.gov/odls/homePage.do

    Online Detainee Locator System

Use this page to locate a detainee who is currently in ICE custody, or who was released from ICE custody for any reason within the last 60 days.

Note: Online Detainee Locator System cannot search for records of persons under the age of 18.
    Search by A-Number

If you know the detainee's A-Number, ICE recommends you use the A-Number search. The A-Number must be exactly nine digits long. If the A-Number has fewer than nine digits, please add zeros at the beginning. You are also required to select the detainee's correct Country of Birth.

    Search by Biographical Information

When searching by name, a detainee's first and last names are required and must be an exact match (e.g., John Doe will not find Jon Doe or John Doe-Smith). You are also required to select the detainee's Country of Birth. It is optional to enter the detainee's Date of Birth to further narrow the search. Note that all value input below are evaluated for exact matches.

That is great information, thank you Texasdust. It is important to know that just because you have a green card it does not mean you can't be deported. Depending on the type of crime committed you can be liable for deportation. Check your DOC web site for detainer information. Drugs figure very high (it can even be very small amounts) along with any kind of aggravated felony. You can find a list of low cost/pro bono immigration lawyers on the I.C.E webside but from experiance they are not of much help. If you are looking for an immigration lawyer make sure they are accredited Check thier credentials. The I.C.E. website has a list of lawyers who have been struck off. There are a lot of scams who prey on low income, non English speaking immigrants. Make sure that you hire a lawyer who specializes only in immigration as it is highly specialized.
That which does not break you only makes you stronger
