I've heard about marriage seminars they have in the prisons but would like more info on them. Does anybody know when they have them, how does one sign up and what exactly happens in these seminars and can anyone go to one? I appreciate any help.
Here are some links that might answer your questions and give you insight.
From what I know it's pretty tough to get into because there are select group of couples that go. One you have to already be married when applying. Two they have to meet certain TDCJ criteria - no loss of line class / good time / custody. They can't be in a gang. They have to meet this and such. I know a small number - one - of couples who applied and did it out of many. Good luck!
We're together...we're happy...and even though TDCJ is behind us, I still support my jpay friends!
On the marriage seminar I went to one last month at M.Stiles Unit. My husband signed us up, then sent me the application. After the chaplin and warden approve then you are in. You have to have three years or less on parole.
Does anybody have any of the information that they give you in the marriage seminar? I don't know if they offer it at his unit but even if they did, we couldn't do it because he's in high security but I would like to know the information that is given.
