Default Visitation for prisoners in "the hole"

Can anyone fill me in on how and if there are visitations for prisoners who are "in the hole"? Any information about the experience for him would he helpful, too. I have no idea what it entails.

Your best bet is to check online for the visitation rules for the particular prison. My bf just got out of the hole from a prison in PA and the difference is that the visitation was on specific days, its non-contact (thru glass) and limited to an hour.

Call the unit he's at and ask if he can have visitors.

I would definately call first. Every state and possibly every institution could be different.

In TX the hole is called segregation and visits are non contact thru wire or glass. What I hated the most is he was brought out between 2 guards and in shackles and cuffs.

My son is 'in the hole' as he calls it. He's got 60 days - he can write and receive mail but no visits or phone calls. After that he has got 30 days (I think that's right) with no privileges. During that time he can have 'video visits' but he's said he doesn't want to do that and he'll just wait it out until he can have a regular visit.
