Default Does anyone know if a convicted felon can go on a Bahamas Cruise?

My friend is getting out in 10 mths, and has asked me to check into if he can go on a Bahamas cruise when he gets released. His charges are for burglary. So does anyone know if he can go on one and actually get off at a port? Thanks

I am not 100 percent sure but I dont think he can. I believe if you are going on a cruise and the ports are outside of the country then you will need a passport and a convicted felon cannot go out of the country for 7 years. I'm not 100 percent sure but thats what I remember when my brother was thinking to get married in England and we needed to get Craig there

A felon can have a passport since it is just another form of indentification. They can leave the country as soon as they are off parole. Some countries require a visa to enter and some don't allow felons in. You can check travel websites for who requires a visa and what kind of restrictions they have. I think you can get to the information from the US passport website. I just don't remember if the Bahamas checks to see if you're a felon.
Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about.

kstorey I think is correct cause my friend husband had to wait 10 years for clearance before he went on the cruise. Another example last year another assoicate owed child support and was a felon. He had just made 10 years and his new wife/him had to pay child support before they gave clearance. They just don't give out passports to anyone if so then everyone would have one. There is a screening process. Please check all your info first before you make plans. It's not that easy that's why federal agencies are the ones handing them out. Not just ANY Old Doc. Not an opinion just facts.

I did some research and here is a few things I found

    http://www.travelinsurancereview.net...utside-the-us/

    http://www.ehow.com/how_5003099_obta...ed-felons.html

I have no idea if any of this information will be useful to you. Everything I looked up said yes and no. I think it really depends on the country which might be a problem since cruises make quite a few stops
