I am going to bring three links up for you. Good Time in Mich. has been a topic for awhile and when some states mention it Mich is not really touched on in this area. Hopefully you will search and if you find something you will post it. Thank You!

You can go to the Michigan Legislature website, and view the bill there are two of them. You can also register to be updated if any changes occur on the bills. That Governor Cushingberry introduced in March to have the good time added back, because when Michigan started the truth in sentencing to get the federal money they had to promise that all prisoners would serve 85% of their time, but MI already was meeting that threshold.

The bills you are asking about are HB4497, 4498, 4499. They had a meeting on them on 6/19/09 with no action taken. There was another meeting scheduled for 10/7/09 but was cancelled when the budget wasn't passed. We have encouraged everyone to first, contact their rep to let them know you are in support of these bills, and second to contact Rep Mark Meadows as he is the commitee chairman and it is his office who schedules the hearings.

I found in Michigan Legislature that their are two Bills HB 4497 and HB 4498 About bringing back Good Time and I see it passed both the house and Senate but I lost track after that. Does anyone know whats going on with those now? Or if they are becoming law again? If so When would they go into effect?
