Hi,
My boyfriend was just convicted and arrested yesterday. We're working on getting him out on bail but in the meanwhile I am lighting a candle every day hoping that he stays safe where he is. This is my first time with someone "on the inside" so I was happy to find these forums for support and guidance. We're hoping once we get him out, we can fight this from the outside as it is easier to do when you're not in the system. Does anyone know how strict they are at the Marin County Jail regarding visitors? Anything I should know? We've already got an appointment for me set up to visit him Sunday. Thanks in advance. Thanks, Marie. I appreciate the kind words. This all feels so surreal. When we met a few months ago, I knew what I was getting myself into but we were both convinced things would go his way and not this way. I am still in shock that 12 people believed his accusers over him, and I am rather angered at the way our judicial system is set up....I feel as though people aren't innocent until proven guilty but guilty until they themselves prove their innocence. I am fully convinced those jurors had already decided he was guilty even before the trial started!
Sorry I had to vent - I don't have a support system here....My parents would flip if they learned I was in love with a man who was in jail....And no one but my best friend understands that you just can't help who you fall in love with. |

Welcome to the forum.
Like mamalion said this is a great support system and you'll always have someone to talk to. Keep your head up and stay strong...I'll be praying for you and yours. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

thanks, everyone, for your kind words and support. i am already feeling the love and kindness.
i'm really tired of the 100 million different emotions i've been feeling. yesterday i walked into town (we live in a small town of about 50K people give or take and he knows A LOT of people here) and i realised just how big this little town feels without him by my side. i was in kohl's buying a new bra, and this song came on, and i almost sat down on the floor as i was crying and didn't want anyone to see me. but ... i have become inspired. to live my life to the fullest, each day..not play the "what if" games i have been playing, and i think i am going to write a book about this. my experiences with this. i have already suggested he needs to write a book (he's better at storytelling than the writing bit) and i offered to ghostwrite it. if anything else, it will help both of us get through this.
