Hi,
I am TexasDust! My name is Yolanda and I have a son who is in Canon City, Colorado Right now he is in Fremont (Segregation) He has been down Now 7 years he also was at Centennial there and did 2 of those years in CSP (Colorado State Pen.). He is serving an 8 year and 10 year consecutive sentence (18 years). Before ending up at Canon City he was first at Buena Vista/Parker County/County jail in Colorado(CJC)/El Paso County Jail and as a juvenile he did time in Zebuleon Pike Detention Center and in Golden, Colorado (from the age of 13 to present 25 he has been raised by the COLORADO JUDICIAL SYSTEM). I moved to San Antonio, Texas to get my son out of the system but he got caught up before we moved. I met his Father when I was 12 years old (72-73) married him 1981 at the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility (CTCF) I waited ½ our married life for him to get out of prison it was a revolving door for him he was out then in then out then in for he to was always getting incarcerated and spent that time in several facilities there at the East Canon City Complex. In the 80's he did a few years in Buena Vista, Colorado when it was a prison and not a Camp, He died 1n 1992 on the outside of The Prison Walls but was facing a 25 to 75 year sentence he didn't make it to sentencing! I have a box full of JAIL HOUSE PROMISES I call it THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LOVE A couple of years after his death I got with a guy who parole violated from New Mexico of course I waited and things went bad he got out GREAT for awhile but he ended up there in Canon City he got out and I got to a point where enough was enough. I wanted something different in my life someone who worked wasn't involved with the law and that drugs wasn’t a factor so I got with some one who I will call "The Jerk", God what was I thinking. So 5 years after my husbands death I remarried 1999 to a man I knew who when I was a child he was my brothers friend he did 30 years Straight Time, paroled out to my sisters and we married 3 months later (Go Figure!) He has been to so many prisons that it would make your head spin the Worst of the Worst are Lompac in California/Marion in Illinois/Lewisburg in Pennsylvania/Leavenworth in Kansas/ Super Max in Florence Colorado that is in order as he did his TIME. He Was on State Parole but is off and We are waiting for Washingtons answer to his Federal Parole (if they will let him off). (He did go back for almost 2 years and did his TIME there at two of the facilities at the Canon City Complex Centennial and Fremont and he also did a few months at the Walsenburg Prison there in Colorado.) We have been married 10 years! I LIVE ON 2 ½ ACRES IN A SMALL LITTLE FARM HOUSE, WITH MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND WHO TURNED OUT TO BE THE BEST MAN EVER! WE HAVE 3 HORSES, 2 GEESE, 2 DUCKS, 3 DOGS, AND A WHOLE LOT OF CHICKENS FIGHTING ROOSTERS AND HENS & DOMESTIC CHICKENS. A CITY GIRL LIVING ON A FARM I LOVE IT! I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS, RIVERS & LAKES, CAMPING, HIKING, BARBECUING, SITTING BY THE FIRE PIT AT NIGHT AND LOOKING AT THE STARS, I DO LEATHER WORK, BEADING, EMBROIDERING, CROCHETING AND SEWING. I LIKE TRAVELING, ANIMALS, A GOOD BOOK, WATCHING GOOD MOVIES. BUT THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD FOR ME TO BE IS HOME!

So I hope that I have answered alot of your questions in the Threads & Post I have posted I was once there myself and learned as I encountered every issue. My Heart goes out to you ALL! Hoping, Wishing and Praying for YOU ALL! Or should I say YA ALL! I'am in Texas after All!

I have been dealing with The Colorado Correctional Facilities from 1980 till Present 2009 I FEEL LIKE AN
"Old Timer" And along the way many policies and things have changed. I visit my son a few times a year so it seems to me there is always something different going on. THANK YOU

An Update:
My Son Has Been Moved To C.S.P. "Colorado State Penitentiary" The States Birthday Present To Him was to let him call me for His Birthday "Collect of Course" He will be locked down 23 hours a day 20min. out of the room to a take shower, as he just turned 26 June 15th he was moved on the 11th. His Visits have been taken away until Aug or Sept. So I guess No Vacation To Colorado Any Time Soon!

His Little Girl is Now 7 Her Birthday was May 23rd

My Son at the age of nine started acting out over his father's death and by the age of 13 was in The Sytem in Colorado. This Time around he has done 7 years but has an 18 year sentence, Thou Drugs Were not a factor nor Alcohol and he never stole from the house or me but once took $40. A $20. from one roll of money and another $20 from another roll I guess he thought I wouldn't notice, I found him and explained where the money was going and what bills I was paying that it was to keep us afloat that if I drowned they would go down with me because I was trying to keep our heads above water.

He just turned 26 June 15 and this is the 13th year straight he has had a Birthday in Custody, Sad But True! That includes Christmas and Thanksgiving. If he wasn't in one facility he was in another he would get in trouble when he was already in trouble and then right before probation was over he would do something stupid and get more time and then he got off probation one time and 2 weeks later he got another charge!

When he was in Buena Vista he got charged with a violent act "fought back"

Finally! Getting sent to C.S.P. which is a 23 hour lock down he was there Approximatly 2 1/2 to 3 years, he had to see him self for who he really was had to find himself, Had To Find That Person In The Mirror That Was Looking Back At Him!

When they let him out to go to regular or a lower security prison it didn't take long to mess up again being the big man on campus well he is back in C.S.P. was in Ad Seg for 6 months before they sent him there June 11 again he turned 26 on the 15th in 23 hour lock down.
All I can do is Pray for him Love Him and Let God Do What ever it takes to get him right. I believe God took him out of my reach so he could let Adrian see where he was at in life and to let him go through what he was doing to himself in life for I was always geting him out of trouble hiding him lying for him paying his court cost I was in the principles office more than he was in school, when the courts wanted him to see the shrink he went one time The Next he made sure he wasn't home so he didn't have to go! I showed up alone to tell them he was not going to show and no It wasn't a group thing just for him to talk to the person for the courts. I was paying the price for his crimes and stupidity not him! I was in the courts so much the lawyers and Judges thought I worked there! Seriously!

He goes for parole Sept 1 don't know if he will be granted parole Yes I want him Out But like I just told my Husband I will then have something else to worry about!
So I just want to let you all know I hear you, I hear what you are saying and I feel your Pain for I Am Struggling with the same emotions as you all are!
And believe me what I have mentioned is only a drop in the bucket, I carry around with me!

Yes I know that saying let go and let God! When I think I have I realize sometimes I don't know how because I thought I had already let go But Guess Not...

He Is An Awsome Person And To Be Going Through This For So Long It Is Hard, He Has A Good Heart, Always taking up for the underdog, That is why he has got alot of time in Ad Seg fighting for the ones that people try and take advantage of, Like The Newbies, He had and eye accident when he was around 16 when the check came through he was 18 and he signed it over to me gave it to the attorney and told him to give it to me, he told me to go buy a house for me and my husband that him and his brother were still young and they could build or get their own house. And of Course he had me put some away for Him and some in an account for his daughter.

I am Happy would be happier thou if my son would get out of Prison!

If your ever down this way in San Antonio or going to Corpse Christi your welcome to stop by! Maybe I will even have room for you to stay the night we have built on 2 additional rooms an extra bedroom and dining room, he is extending the porch from the back to around the the corner of the house and is right now in the process of putting banisters in and lattice for shade in the area the Huge Big Oak Trees Do Not Cover!

The animals are still here but we only have two dogs now, I have a horse up for sale. And the chickens are now in Big Chicken Coops so there isn't a bunch of poop everywhere ha-ha-ha there wasn't to begin with but I will admit those Geese are Nasty we have to keep a gate on our front porch or they take advantage of the situation and caca all over it! I think we will be having Goose for Christmas and Thanksgiving! Just Joking!!!

A Group of Kids were driving around drinking and doing dope. They wrecked into my son's car TWO of The Kids in My Sons Car DIED 1 Instantly and the Other a WEEK later, His Girl went to the Hospital for broken bones and My Son got 10 Years He did not have anything to do with the accident "other than being behind the wheel and driving his car" and the other boy that was found Guilty got 8 Years. All because my son was already facing a sentence that day and the Judge said he shouldn't have been driving around before court!

But first NO he had nothing in his system They Took BLOOD & URINE TEST! And the other guy took off which they did catch days later he wanted the Crystal Meth to get out of his system, the VECHICLE He Was Driving was full of beer cans and they had been smoking weed. His dads SUV wasn't going anywhere that's how they caught him and the kid was on Probation! My son was driving and taking a curve when the other vechicle came around the curve and lost control he was trying to put the vechicle into gear (THE OTHER DRIVER) and it wouldn't catch (go in) He hit the cement curve and his SUV front left fender hit my sons right back panel which sent my son sliding sideways right into a WOOD LIGHT POLE (Utility Pole) My sons car hit so hard when the tires hit the cement curve it threw the car up in the air 6 feet and it hit sideways on the drivers side in the back where the boy in the back died instantly his head hit the side window and I won't go into detail what it did to his head and brain! The other boy died in the hospital he was in a comma and the nurses didn't clean his air tube out so he suffocated to death! And still the Judge said that if he wasn't in my sons car he would not of had the injuries that put him in the hospital.

My Bitterness Is With The Court System!
And The Injustice That Goes On In The Facilities!

I agree my son was involved in an accident that was proven by experts that the other vechicle was the cause but the courts decided to aggravate my sons charges cause he had a court date to go that morning accident happened at 4:57 am and his court time was 8:00 am SO they doubled his time!!! Read the WRONG LAW Civil instead of Criminal so his TIME was run consecutive instead of concurrent. I could GO ON AND ON but it doesn't seem like anyone is listening or cares!
(So he got 8 years for the first charge and 10 years on The Accident)=18 years / He has done 7 so far

The other boy who got 8 years has already been released 3 Times and has gone back two times for drugs and this last time from my understanding he is out, partying driving drunk and still scoring dope!

There were visits where they brought him to visiting behind glass handcuffed and shackled and the shackles on his ankles where CLIPPED to his skin/ his skin was caught in the cuff/ he had a choice to visit (LIKE THAT) or leave visit and they would be over if they had to fix his shackle. You could see it bruising as he sat there and YES he was IN PAIN!

Recently in Feb. he got in trouble after visits. (I already knew) They had him strip down and put him in a room with only a bucket in it, until the balloon of weed came out of him! DON'T They Ever Learn and He Tells ME! It Was Only A Joint! I can't Blame it on the Guards that they caught him with it and I don't feel it is fair either the punishment that they want to give him, BUT again when are these kids going to get it right!? And Yes I Love Him Dearly and Nothing will Change That And I'm Here For Him No Matter What! BUT I WANT TO GIVE HIM A LOVE SLAP SO HE CAN GET IT RIGHT!

I Capitilized every letter in ENABLER I lied for him, I covered for him, I hid Him, I paid ALL his court cost except the $10,000 one that 4 of his buddies got for stealing a SUV one time from a Dealership That restitution is $40,000!

He is at Fremont and they want to put him back at CSP! He is in Colorado.

I waited 4 months for him to tell me! He was scared to admit to me that he messed up again. I had to ask him, Are You Going to CSP for getting into trouble? I wonder what he felt when he read the letter cause he thought I didn't know anything! But That Is My Son and I Will Always Try and Watch Out For Him! TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY!

BUT HE WAS SO CLOSE TO PAROLING AT THE END OF THIS YEAR! HE HAS BEEN IN 7 YEARS THIS Time and his little Girl was 2 weeks old when he went to jail. She knows him through pictures and a FEW visits all her life it was through glass except for maybe three visits! He has something to get out for and yet for a joint it has been taking away! CSP is 23 hour lock up no contact with other Inmates and it is at the shortest 18 Months being Locked Up like that some are shackled in there room! Some get No consideration for Parole during that Time! SO I am in the same boat with everybody here waiting and wondering when it will all come to an end!? I found out a month ago that they had released him from Ad Seg over the weed and he jacked somebody up and that is why he went back in to Ad Seg and is now back at C.S.P. He is to meet The Parole Board Sept 1st. Not looking good with a write up or two and being in The Facility he is in.

I know it is hard on us as mothers when all their life we have been there and taken care of them defended them got them through thier fears wiped their tears away and tried to heal their pains and protected them agaisnt the injusticies of the World and then they are taken away out of our reach where we are not close to them to defend them and such. Hopefully some of what we taught them or all of what we taught them will be used by them to succeed where ever they are at or in what ever they have to go through and endure!

My son had a prison house lawyer look at his case and sent paper work to The Judge and "The Judge Wrote Back" told my son if he can get the mother of the boy that died in the hospital to sign an affidavit stating that the hospital took responsibilty for her sons death (They paid her an undisclosed amount of $) That he would consider resentencing him or better put reducing his sentence! She has giving the paper work neccesary! And wrote That Adrian deserves another chance and that is what her son would want to... Thank You Jesus........

Now The courts knew all this prior but I'm telling you it is God At Work!

My Husband John has Been Released early from Federal Parole!

It is a God Thing......

Was told he has been the only one ever let off early on Federal Parole on a Level 6. (Don't know if they meant only in Texas!?) Washington makes the decisions.... "Thank you Jesus!"

God Has Been Shaken Things Up In this Family and I Want To Give God The Glory And Honor He Deserves For What He Has Done, What He Is Doing, And For What He Is Still Going To Do In My Family!
