    Smile Florida Jail Canteen Lists??

    Hello everyone—

Will be doing a 6-month stint at the St. Lucie County Jail.

I've seen the Keefe commissary (canteen) list, but they seem to serve only the FL DOC prisons. Is that correct? Aramark seems to handle the county jails, or at least the SLC one.

Does anyone have a recent copy of the Aramark canteen list, or know where I can obtain one? I'm trying to estimate costs for loved ones to send me $$.

Thank you in advance, and blessings to all!

To willysmom.....anything you want to know about FDOC is online @ Florida Department of Corrections....Florida Administrative Code 33....everything from canteen lists (under Inmate Property) to routine mail to visiting regulations.....everything is there. Hopefully, this helps....Thank you.

Good luck with St Lucie Rock road hotel. my grandson was there for nine and half months almost froze, could never get enough money for him cause the jail took everything for fees. The medical was ok though. I was happy when he left that hell hole.

I totally and respectfully disagree that the medical is ok at Rock Road. If you consider almost killing my diabetic husband good medical care??? He had 2 cases pending 1 in SLC and the other in Martin. Our lawyer after 1 week of killing my husband had the judge send him to martin until his transfer into the state system. They would not test his blood sugar on a regular basis and would not give him his insulin as needed. His blood sugar never went below 450 while at rock road and if you know anything about diabetics that is a VERY dangerous life threatening level. I must admit it is not much better after 1yr in the state system but at least he is in the 300 range now instead of high 4's. When my husband was first arrested and we bonded him out his blood sugar was 502 and the officers made him walk to the flying J to wait for us to pick him up. He explained that his blood sugar was dangerously high and he could not physically walk the couple miles to wait for us and they said you are not allowed to wait for your ride on property and they escorted him off the property. Ken Mascara needs to get a handle on things there because the way they treat these men and women who are supposed to be presumed innocent until found guilty is going to kill someone and have an awful lawsuit on their hands. I know these people have done things against the law however, decent medical attention is a MUST!!! You are right about the money. We sent 80 and he was bonded out 2 days later and didn't get a chance to use any of it and was told that it all went to service fees and medical. What a joke! $80 for 2 days.
