My neice just got approved for parole and should be home by November 22,2009. This is her 3rd time in TDC and 5 drug charge, she is paroling to my house with a two month old she had in prison, and a 19 month old she had while on bond awaiting sentencing. I pray she is able to make positive changes in her life with the help of loved ones such as myself and our Heavenly Father. My husband has been locked up for 18 years and is up for parole, I will do anything in my power to help him be successful and make sure he utilizes everything at his disposal. He was a 17 year old that made a huge mistake but now he is a 37 year old that needs helping hand. I am the only one willing to help these two and as long as we have each other and the Father things will be alright, they won't be easy but they will work out just the way they should to help us all grow and learn from these life lessons.

I have a friend who got out on parole on July 23 2009 he messed up, violated and now is going back. Any advice you could give me to help him not violate again when he comes out a second time?

Blessed...those words of yours took off a huge load on my shoulders..it's a very beautiful passage.. My husband has been in High Desert State Prison in Nevada since July 2009 and was told will be transferred to Southern Desert Correctional Facility within 1 year (better facility). We were so happy to hear that and wanted it sooner because over there they offer so much more vocational programs. He's getting transferred tomorrow after only 4 months at High Desert and promised me he will do everything he can to be able to enroll in the programs offered since as you said they are the benefits as being state property. I am a medical professional and I keep encouraging my husband to get a college degree and he is more than willing to try it this time..so when I read your thread it just made my heart leap that there are people who think like that, who actually think that ex felons are human beings like everybody else as well and just made big mistakes. My husband and I feel that God is looking out for the both of us..We're good, decent people, I work with sick people of all ages and he is a compassionate and generous soul so when he went to prison I was thinking about the positive side..He needed to be inside so he can work his issues out..So thank you very much for your post and good luck to you...

That's wonderful!! I know in Michigan.. you can't have two parolee's staying in one house.. I don't know if it's the same in your state or not, but if it is.. help her get herself together as quickly as possible so it doesn't hinder the parole boards decision for your husbands release.. Whoo Hooo! always glad to hear about someone coming home!!!

Thumbs up

So happy for your good news.

You said earlier this was her third time in and 5 drug charges.

Find a NA meeting close to you and get her to go.
