Lightbulb New to the Site:

I am really close to my younger brother. He has been through a lot in the past 5-6 years... His girl died when their son turned 1, and he was taking care of everyone except his self. Our grandfather passed of cancer, and again he was there with him all the way through. I admire him for the person he is, and the lengths he would go throught to help anyone in need. This past year he had a girlfriend that was abusing his son, and DSS put him into family care. 5 mths later his daughter died on his son's mother's birthday, and that took more out of him than anyone knows. I have been there with my brother throught it all; I would never turn my back, and we are like two peas in a pod.. He was in the process of trying to complete all of the court required programs so that my nephew could come back home; he got rid of that slack girl, and that's been his focus... Getting his life back on track for his son! I am goining to be there all the way through!!!

Wow! Sounds like your Brother has definitly had his share of losses... I'm sorry to hear about that... It's good that he has a Sister like you. There is nothing more important than family. My BF's mother and sister practically gave up on him, since they know I'm there to support him.. But I know he still longs to hear more from them.. I'm glad you are sticking by your brother's side..

i'm glad to hear you're sticking by your brother's side. my boyfriend and i both have pretty much been alienated by (most of) our families because of everything that is going on with him. lately, i've been hearing his fear of losing me too, and no matter how many times i tell him i am not going anywhere, i can sometimes hear it in his voice. (i told him i was sending him a 10 page letter and when he called, he asked if i had written him a "dear john" letter.....but once he got it, he realised that it was NOTHING like he had feared....[insert eye roll])

when i hear about family members sticking by their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, etc, it warms the cockles of my soul. good on you for doing so!
